Christine Sutherland started her career in multimedia in 1970 working on a documentary crew for the West Kootenay Ecological Study with Selkirk College. She then went on to study at the Gulf Island of Film and Television School in 2000, the Vancouver Film School in 2001 and the Langara Film Program in 2005. Her most recent film project is titled ‘Dream Big: Fort St John to Tokyo‘ and follows the journey of wheelchair basketball player Bo Hedges, as he competes in the 2020 Paralympic Games.
Christine Sutherland has been teaching Animal Massage for the past forty years. She started in her barnyard in the Kootenays of British Columbia with 60 chickens, three goats, two horses, four dogs, three cats, plus ducks and geese! With her self-subsistent lifestyle of the seventies, she acquired extensive experience with animals and was taught hands-on techniques by the Doukhobor farmers for all kinds of everyday complaints and crises.
She has studied with thoroughbred farms and veterinarians across the country and demonstrated and filmed at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Christine has taught local kennel clubs, 4H groups, SPCA volunteers and vets her message of hands-on healing through animal massage and the power of touch.
Combining a passion for healing and massage with her multimedia skills, Christine is always looking for the next way to share the power of touch with the world!
